About Denette Dunn

Denette Dunn is a sustainability expert and public speaker who served as a member and chair of Peoria’s Boards and Commissions Subcommittee. A former vice mayor, she is currently a council member representing the city’s Pine District.

In her role as a council member, Dunn created the Pine Citizens Advisory Committee to better serve her constituents. The committee was established to address concerns specific to the community and has since expanded its membership to over 100 residents and public officials.

Dunn has extensive experience in the private sector, having worked for Republic Services as the Municipal Services manager for over five years. Assigned to oversee the department’s services in the southwest, she was responsible for managing over $85 million in municipal contracts.

Concurrent with her position at Republic Services, Dunn was a registered lobbyist who helped pass legislation aimed at fostering equitable partnerships between private entities and municipalities.

She has also served on many other boards and commissions, including the WESTMARC Board, the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission, the Tucson Clean and Beautiful’s Board of Directors, and the Solid Waste Association of North America’s Board of Directors.

Denette Dunn also served as president and legislative liaison of the Arizona Recycling Coalition.
